Into the Wild - Jon Krakauer
Krakauer is a great writer but the subject, Christopher Johnson McCandless, just isn't likable or interesting enough to make this a good book. After graduating from college, McCandless gave his $25,000 savings to charity and took off in his car, never calling his friends or family. During his trip, he ditched his car, burned the cash in his wallet, and then hitch-hiked to Alaska where he starved to death in the woods. He was an idealistic incompetent idiot.
