Love in the Time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Florentino fell in love with Fermina when they were young. Fermina rejected Florentino and married a doctor, so then he spent the next 50 years waiting for the doctor to die. I enjoyed the humor and absurd situations. Descriptions of the Caribbean island during the late 19th and early 20th centuries were rich and vivid. However, I didn't enjoy the book as much as I thought I would. The main characters weren't likable, the story didn't have much of a plot, and there isn't much dialog.
