Night - Elie Wiesel

Unfortunately, I'm a little desensitized to Holocaust related writing as far as atrocity descriptions are concerned. What makes this story interesting though is the way many victims deteriorated into something less than human. It ended up being every person for himself with people behaving in ways they never would have in less harsh circumstances.
