The Forever War - Dexter Filkins

This author is obviously against the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq but he gives an excellent view of how things have gone on the ground. He spent several years traveling with American troops and speaking with many local people, civilians and insurgents. Filkins put his own life in danger in order to write this book, and I appreciate that. Read this book.
