A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini

This novel, Hosseini's latest, is about the plight of Muslim women in Afganistan. Like The Kite Runner, the story takes place during the Russian and Taliban occupations. The main characters are Mariam and Laila, two woman that grow up with very different lives but end up victims in the same household. This is an excellent book but I liked the Kite Runner a bit more.
