Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides

The main character who is telling the story is a hermaphrodite but it's really not about him. It's about his Greek family. This Pulitzer prize winning (2003) book is one of the better books I've read. It's an interesting look at the lives of Greek-Americans and their roots as well as human nature in general. While reading, I was always anxious to find out what was next.
