How Doctors Think - Jerome Groopman, M.D.
I didn't know that a doctor's attitude toward his patient could have a such a great effect on the quality of care. Apparently, sticking with a doctor that doesn't like you can cost you your life. The book discusses many of the flawed thought processes that can result in misdiagnosis and failed treatment. The case histories show where doctors relied too much on data that didn't justify their conclusions or they used established algorithms incorrectly to save time. It's an interesting book.
